Remzij Sherifi is a Kosovan Glaswegian and former journalist. She began volunteering within 10 days of arriving in Scotland in 1999 from a refugee camp, despite not speaking English and being seriously ill.


Remzij now runs the Maryhill Integration Network which aims to bring refugee, migrant and local communities together through, art, social, cultural and educational groups and projects, offering people a chance to learn new skills, meet new people, share experiences and take part in worthwhile activities to improve their lives and the life of their communities.

Remzije also cofounded AlbScott the Albanian Scottish association which assists the integration process of Albanians living in Scotland by supporting their welfare, promoting and sharing their culture and fulfilling their aspirations by creating initiatives which promote educational opportunities.
